Final Conference of the SolTec Project - September 21st to 23rd in Berlin

Two years of interesting and successful project work together with our European project partners are coming to an end.
Within the framework of the LEONARDO DA VINCI Development of Innovation framework we have contributed to improve vocational training in the solar energy sector by delivering a European qualification standard for operational skills and facilitating the mobility of skilled workers across the borders.
We want to use the final project meeting (Flyer/Press Release) as an occasion to exchange and discuss ideas on the issues of certification, skilled labour demand and mobility in the solar sector and the other green job sectors, the 2020 strategy, subsistence vs. harmonization, the Energy Directive of April 23rd 2009, transparency instruments, etc. from different perspectives and in order to develop approaches for solutions and networking on a European level.

We will hold this conference together with the LEONARDO DA VINCI Transfer of Innovation Project AIRE which focuses on the development and dissemination of international vocational training for renewable energy and energy management. In the project defined a catalogue of minimum standards and a certification scheme which is based on European transparency instruments in order to make qualifications visible. The next step is to implement it institutionally (more...).

Our guests from Spain, Italy, Portugal and Bulgaria lernt everything about maintanence, service and installation of large PV-plants. Amongst other things they learned how to analyse stress diagrams and the appropriate methods to maintance PV-modules. We also visited the Technologiepark Gelsenkirchen and had a guided tour of their PV-plant.
